Oak Grove Academy, an infant-through-kindergarten private school in Alpharetta, will have its grand re-opening event on Nov. 12 after a new ownership team renovated the 23-year-old school and implemented a new curriculum focused on STREAM (Science, Technology, Reading and Writing, Engineering, Arts and Math).
The event is open to the public and will include food trucks and family-friendly games. There will also be a demonstration by Kids Learning Tech, an Alpharetta-based organization that teaches children about the latest technologies, such as robotics, 3-D printing and drones. Families with small children are especially invited.
The new owner of Oak Grove Academy is Endeavor Schools, a Miami-based education management company with operational headquarters in Atlanta. Tiffany Richey, the company’s Regional Director of Operations in Atlanta, said the school’s new STREAM-focused curriculum “prepares students for high achievement.”
“Oak Grove Academy encourages each student to thrive,” Richey said. “By bringing technology and science to life in a hands-on way, we are building a foundation for future academic success. We are taking students to the next level of learning.”
This event is an opportunity for Alpharetta residents to experience what the new Oak Grove Academy has to offer. Parents interested in enrolling their child can tour the newly renovated campus. Some of the new additions include a renovated four-acre playground with new playground equipment and new secure fencing; new buses equipped with high-quality air-conditioning systems; new computers for kindergarteners and new toys learning materials for all children. In addition, the school’s building has been entirely repainted and equipped with new plumbing fixtures.
“Oak Grove Academy has undergone such a complete makeover, it might be considered a whole new school,” said Allyson Farran, the Director of Oak Grove Academy and a 15-year veteran of the school.
Academically, the school’s new approach involves strengthening preschool and Kindergarten students’ abilities in technology and math so that they become interested in the subjects and enjoy learning them at the next level of their education. And for infants and toddlers, the experienced Oak Grove staff is trained to offer age-appropriate individualized care and personalized education.
“We’re really looking forward to seeing our students enjoy everything we have to offer,” Farran said. “Parents will be proud to know their children go to this school.”
Endeavor Schools has a growing presence in the Atlanta area with four schools on five campuses, including Richmond Hill Montessori Preschool; Montessori Academy at Vickery, Montessori Academy at Sharon Springs; Endeavor Montessori at Dunwoody; and the dual-location Atlanta Montessori International School with campuses in Cliff Valley and Druid Hills.
