IPG Certification Workshop

Linda Easton, Executive Director IPG, presenting at Certification Workshop.

Johns Creek/Alpharetta – PUFF N FLUFF PET SPA, the first Georgia grooming salon to receive the “Approved Grooming Facility” certification from the International Professional Groomers, Inc. is again leading the way in advancing the safety and professionalism of the Georgia grooming industry.

The Georgia grooming industry is currently unregulated, meaning there are no basic standards of safety, quality, or groomer qualifications.  While there are many talented and well qualified groomers in the area, it can be difficult for pet owners to determine the qualified from the unqualified groomer. Groomer certifications can help.  Certified groomers are demonstrating their qualifications and commitment to pet safety and quality of their services.

On Mach 6, 2019, PUFF N FLUFF PET SPA is hosting a workshop with Linda Easton, Executive Director of the International Professional Groomers, Inc. (IPG), to discuss current progress of groomer certification and licensing within the industry.  During this event, Linda Easton will also be administering certification exams to groomers from around the Southeast.  Participants will be working on various levels of certification up to and including the International Master Groomer certification.

“Because professional certification is not a requirement for dog groomers, we want to proactively help organize groomers in our area to voluntarily become certified,” said Candice Puffenberger, owner of PUFF N FLUFF PET SPA and International Certified Master Groomer (ICMG).  “This is the third workshop we’ve hosted with the IPG, and we are excited to continue working with Linda and her organization to promote pet safety, continuing education, and certification.”

IPG is an international association created to educate, certify and accredit Professional Pet Groomers.  They work closely with the Professional Pet Groomers and Stylists Alliance (PPGSA), a grooming alliance of certifying agencies, educators, associations, industry leaders and other interested parties.  “Our passion is the safety of the pets in our care” says Linda Easton.

PUFF N FLUFF PET SPA is a family-owned business serving the Alpharetta /Johns Creek area and dedicated to the personalized needs of their clients. “It’s not just about making our four-legged friends look good, but more importantly, making sure they are cared for in a safe and loving way,” says Candice Puffenberger.
