Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. held its 66th South Atlantic Regional Conference, “Excellence Personified: From the Mountains to the Foothills”, in Greenville, South Carolina on April 10 – 14, 2019.  This event, attended by more than 5,000 members from the South Atlantic Region states of Georgia, Florida and South Carolina, featured Keynote Speaker, Kimberly Pleasant, of the Psi Omega Omega Chapter of Peachtree Corners, Georgia delivering the Ecumenical Service Keynote. Kimberly Pleasant delivered a riveting keynote on the theme, “Nothing Is Impossible With God!” which captivated all in attendance with a spiritual, inspirational, and transformational experience.  

Kimberly currently serves as Co-Chair of the Strategic Planning Committee for Psi Omega Omega Chapter.  In addition, she serves on the Spirit Filled Committee for the chapter and on the South Atlantic Region’s Prayer Warrior Team.  In 2017, Kimberly was the recipient of the chapter’s Most Sisterly Soror Award.

Kimberly Pleasant is Assistant Pastor and serves alongside her husband, Dr. Jamie Pleasant, Ph.D. of New Zion Christian Church in Suwanee, GA.  Kimberly also currently serves as the Director of Admissions at Fellowship Christian School located in Roswell, GA.

Kimberly earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from Virginia Tech and an MBA in Finance with distinction from Clark Atlanta University.  Kimberly has also completed doctoral course work in Strategic Management and Entrepreneurship as she continues to pursue her doctoral degree. Kimberly has over 15 years of corporate work experience including management level experience at Fortune 100 Companies, Coca-Cola Enterprises and Sara Lee Corporation.  Kimberly has worked in the areas of Acquisitions; Investor Relations; Finance, Capital Management and Training & Development.

In 1997, Kimberly founded the Women of Purpose Ministries which is a multi-capacity organization with the purpose of providing a forum where women unite to glorify God, are taught biblical principles for successful living and can support, encourage, network with, and uplift one another as they form a Christian bond of sisterhood.  With this platform, Kimberly is a sought after conference speaker and continues to use her education, knowledge and background to teach and lecture in the areas of Godly Marriages, Life Purpose, Motherhood and Living as a Woman of God as well as Finance and Entrepreneurship.

Kimberly and Dr. Jamie reside in Milton, Georgia and are the proud parents of two sons - Christian a Freshman at Vanderbilt University and Zion a high school Junior at Fellowship Christian School.
