Yang signs with Stanford University

Chattahoochee High School's Kevin Yang has signed a National Letter of Intent to run track and field for Stanford University. Stanford is an NCAA Division 1 school and competes in the PAC-12 conference.

Yang, a four-year varsity athlete, contributed to the team at the state championships all four years - placing 8th, 6th, 2nd, and hopefully winning his senior year. As a Junior, Yang was the #1 Junior triple jumper in the state and a top long jumper as well. According to MileSplit, he was also the #3 ranked Junior triple jumper in the country. He also holds the school record - breaking it Sophomore year and breaking it once again Junior year.

Yang ran club track for Major Impact track club, qualifying for nationals a total of 7 times. He is also a 2x All-American, placing 2nd and 7th place out of a field of 40+ national qualifiers. He also had many other top 12 finishes at national meets. He chose Stanford over offers from other schools including Brown University, University of Pennsylvania, and Duke University.
