MILTON, Ga. — Milton Police arrested a driver for DUI after an officer observed the man driving without a tire on a wheel around on June 1 along Mayfield Road.

While near the intersection of Mayfield Road and Charlotte Drive around 1 a.m., an officer heard a loud noise. He reported seeing a black Honda Accord traveling on Mayfield Road without a left-front tire, causing sparks to fly from the car traveling on the rim.

The officer stopped the vehicle and immediately smelled an “overwhelming” odor of alcohol from the car, according to the report.

The driver said he drank two beers, but the officer noted his eyes were watery and his speech was slurred.

The driver refused a field sobriety test and was arrested for DUI, operating an unsafe vehicle, tire violation, operating a vehicle with an expired license and not having his license on his person.
