MILTON, Ga. — A Milton man was arrested for reckless driving for traveling nearly double the speed limit with his 13-year old brother in the car.

An officer clocked the man traveling 82 mph on Providence Road, which has a posted speed limit of 45 mph.

The 21-year old driver said he was sorry for speeding and that he “got excited.” He estimated his speed to be 60 mph. When he was told he was clocked at 82, the man said he believed the officer and said, “I was not paying attention and I just put my foot down.”

According to the report, the man was arrested for reckless driving because he had a juvenile in the car and his high rate of speed endangered other cars on the road.
