MILTON, Ga. — The identities of a Milton couple were recently targeted by scammers, and a credit monitoring company alerted them of potential fraud.

The husband said he was alerted by the company that his credit had been requested five times in a short period. The man said he checked the report and saw his identity was used on five credit card applications he had not requested.

The man received a call May 31 from Southwest Airline’s fraud department who notified him that two credit cards in his name were used to purchase airline tickets. The transactions had been cancelled.

The couple also received letters from a bank in response to their identities being used to open credit cards.
