JOHNS CREEK, Ga. — The Johns Creek Convention and Visitors Bureau connected brides and grooms-to-be with more than 30 vendors at its second annual Wedding Expo.
With around 450 attendees, the free event gave wedding planners an opportunity to meet with venues, caterers, photographers, beauticians and more to help them plan for the big day.
“Our goal is for a couple to leave the expo inspired to host their wedding at a venue in the city and have all the details planned for their special day,” CVB Executive Director Shelby Marzen said.
By showcasing what Johns Creek has to offer for weddings and special events, the CVB hopes to drive more visitor spending and weekend overnight stays.
“While Johns Creek’s three hotels are bustling with a majority of business travelers on weekdays,” Marzen said, “special events are a generator of weekend visitors and fill that need for our hotels. Weddings not only drive visitor spending at hotels, but visitors are also spending money locally at restaurants, businesses and on transportation during their stay.”
The expo was spread out over four rooms of St Ives Country Club, one of the wedding venues in the city.
