GAINESVILLE, Ga. — A man told authorities June 15 that he had received threatening texts from a former client who claimed he owed him money. The man said he had done some landscape work for the male client back in May. When the work was finished, he said the client offered to pay him an additional $100 for some extra work, but he refused the offer and did not take the money.

Since then, the client has continued to send texts demanding that he refund the $100 that he supposedly payed the victim. After asking the client to stop texting, he blocked the number. He then began receiving texts from a different number demanding the $100. The author refused to stop texting until he received the money, adding that he knew his location.

Deputies tried calling both numbers but were unable to reach anyone. The victim was advised to block the new number.
