Q: What did the sign in the monastery searching for new monks say?
A: Inquire within!
Ever feel like spiritual practice, whatever the sort, can sometimes become a bit too, well… humorless? Very very serious? Even perhaps excessively…. sanctimonious? In this half day workshop we’ll lighten up a little! The Zen tradition, with its radical iconoclastic stance going back to its earliest days, commonly uses humor as a tool for lightening up the serious work of spiritual development and unraveling the tightening of the ego… as do other traditions including Sufism and Hasidic Judaism, among others.  In this half day of contemplation and humor we’ll combine sessions of ‘serious’ meditative practice with a bit of crazy wisdom and a good dose of laughter!

Join us with nationally recognized teacher Sean Murphy to explore how humor and lightness can deepen our awareness and practice of our own spirituality. You don't need to be a Buddhist to enjoy the morning, and leave with some wisdom and a smile. Bring a friend!
