Rising to the rank of lieutenant general, James Longstreet participated in most of the battles fought by the Army of Northern Virginia during the American Civil War. During this course, we will explore Longstreet’s military career from his days at West Point, his involvement in the Mexican-American War, the various battle he participated in during the American Civil War and his postwar life in Gainesville, Georgia. The “James Longstreet: Lee's Old Warhorse” class is part of Barrington Hall's popular Evening Class Series. The class is from 7:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. on four consecutive Tuesday evenings, November 5 through November 26. The class is held in the barn activity room of Barrington Hall. The doors to the barn open at 6:30 p.m. The fee for this four week class is $69.00 per person. Advance registration is required. Call 770-640-3855 to make your reservations.
