JOHNS CREEK, Ga. — Uptown Funk, a Bruno Mars tribute band, preformed May 31 at the Mark Burkhalter Amphitheater in Newtown Park, keeping the Johns Creek’s summer concert series going strong.

The band performed a bubbly production of Bruno Mars’ hit songs like “24K Magic,” “That’s What I Like,” “Uptown Funk” and more.

Opening for the band was a group of School of Rock students, warming up the crowd with classic rock hits.

Throughout the concert, the crowd enjoyed a dance space close to the stage, food truck vendors and ample seating space on the lawn.

Future concerts that are part of the city-sponsored series include Edwin McCain preforming Saturday, August 3, a tribute concert for the Allman Brothers Band and Eric Clapton live on September 7 and the Johns Creek Symphony Orchestra preforming on October 5.

The family-friendly concerts start at 7 p.m., with gates opening at 6 p.m., all at the Mark Burkhalter Amphitheater in Newtown Park.
