ALPHARETTA, Ga. — Police arrested a wanted man May 1 after officers found him in the Main Event parking lot at Davis Drive.

Officers were patrolling in the area that evening when they spotted a parked car that took up two spots in the alley between Main Event and Sam’s Club. Officers decided to talk to the driver, whose leg was hanging out of the window.

During the interrogation, police received an alert that the man was wanted in DeKalb County for shoplifting.

The man, identified as 51-year-old Joel Hayes from Jasper, was arrested without incident.
