ALPHARETTA, Ga. — A man called police May 3 after he realized a caller impersonating a Social Security representative stole his personal information.

The man received a call from a man claiming to represent the Social Security Administration. The caller threatened the man with jail time if he did not provide his information, including Social Security number, home address and his bank account information.

The man complied with the request but later realized it was a scam. Police advised him to contact all his banks and explain what happened.
