CUMMING, Ga.—Fireworks, barbeques and pool parties are not the only thing to do on July 4. We The Runners road race will take place on July 4 at Fowler Park in Cumming.

We The Runners offers distance options for all levels of runners with half marathon, 10k, 5k, and half mile Sparkler Trot options. The race will benefit Family Promise of Forsyth County, a non-profit that integrates educational outreach, smart programming, effective policies, and the hands-on work of volunteers to provide food, housing and support services for homeless families.

Races will start at the track at Fowler Park at 4110 Carolene Way in Cumming. Half marathon, 10k and 5k runners will make their way onto the Big Creek Greenway for their respective distances before coming back to the track to cross the finish line. The Sparkler Trot is a favorite of children 10 years and under, and those participants will enjoy a two-lap race on the Fowler Park track.

Participants are encouraged to register early because there is a cap on the number of runners allowed on the course. Participants will receive a t-shirt (guaranteed to those registered by June 25), chip-timed bib, a finisher medal (all distances), free photography and lots fun memories.  The cost for registration is $30 for the 5k, $40 for the 10k, $65 for the half marathon and $20 for the half mile. Packet pick-up will be on July 3 from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. at Totally Running at 405 Peachtree Parkway in Cumming and at Fowler Park on race day beginning at 6:30 a.m.
