ROSWELL, Ga. — On Tuesday evening, hundreds flocked to the Roswell Cultural Arts Center to hear their potential future mayor and city councilmembers before the final runoff election is held Dec. 5.
Six candidates remain. Lori Henry and Lee Jenkins are both vying for the mayor’s seat, while Matt Judy and Karen Parrish are facing off for Post 6. Likewise, Sean Groer and Mike Nyden are both on the ballot for Post 3, after they nearly tied in the November general elections.
The candidates took the stage to not only answer citizens’ questions but to also debate hot topics with one another. Issues included Roswell’s Unified Development Code, retaining city employees, development and redevelopment, Roswell Inc and representation on the council. Some candidates were also given the opportunity to rebut against any rumors surrounding them and their campaigns.
The last day for early voting is this Friday, Dec. 1. Election Day will be held Dec. 5, from 7 a.m.-8 p.m.
