iPhones popular item to steal from North Point Mall

ALPHARETTA, Ga. – A pair of iPhone 5s were stolen Oct. 26 from the Apple store in North Point Mall.

According to store surveillance footage, three people walked in to the store and gathered around the iPhone display. Footage showed one man dismantle the security devices and allow the other two people – a man and a woman – to walk out of the store.

Employees said the trio must have been familiar with the security devices to keep them from going off.

Another iPhone 5 was taken Oct. 27 from the AT&T store on Old Milton Parkway. Two young boys entered the store and allegedly snatched a display phone from the wall and ran out of the store, toward apartments nearby. A silver SUV soon came speeding away from that direction; however employees could not confirm it was related.
