Driver reaches 100 mph for Snapchat

ALPHARETTA, Ga. — A man was arrested July 18 for reckless driving after an officer caught him speeding at more than 100 mph, all for the Snapchat app.

An officer was patrolling Ga. 400 northbound near Mansell Road close to midnight, when he spotted a black Dodge Charger zoom past. The officer’s radar clocked the driver at 112 mph.

The driver, 24-year-old Malon Neal of Alpharetta, was pulled over. He said that he was returning home after spending time with a friend and knew he was speeding.

When asked why he was driving so recklessly, Neal replied that he was trying to take a picture using Snapchat.

Neal was arrested for reckless driving, speeding and writing/sending text-based communications.
