ALPHARETTA, Ga. - An Alpharetta woman died Oct. 18 after being the victim of apparent domestic violence by her fiance.
Police responded to a Jefferson Way apartment, just off Windward Parkway, at 6 a.m. Oct. 16 after a call of arguing coming from the apartment.
When police arrived they found the victim “critically injured.” She was shot in the head by her fiance during an argument. The victim was taken to North Fulton Hospital and her finace, Alamin Nanji, 26, was taken in for questioning.
The victim was pronounced dead early Oct. 18.
Nanji was arrested and initially charged with aggravated assault. His charge was upgraded to felony murder after the victim died.
“We have upgraded the charges to felony murder,” said Alpharetta Public Safety Spokesman George Gordon.
