CUMMING, Ga. — A woman wanting to get crafty is accused of stealing $1,300 from Michaels Stores.

Two witnesses helped Cumming Police track down an alleged felony shoplifter, according to an incident report.

Kailey Nicole Gleason, of Cumming, was arrested and charged with theft by shoplifting after she was caught with more than $1,344 worth of ornaments and craft supplies taken from Michaels, 1200 Market Place Boulevard.

At 3 p.m., Nov. 5, two shoppers told the Michaels store manager they saw Gleason load up a shopping cart with merchandise, walk out of the store and unload the items into bags in her trunk.

The women were able to describe to officers a green in color Acura and provide a tag number.

Police went to the address given with the Acura’s registration and saw the car in the home’s garage.

The officers met with Gleason and she told them she had stolen the merchandise. She then returned the bags of items to the officers.

Officers brought the items back to the store, which included snow globes, ornaments, canvasses, journals and jewelry.

Officers obtained a felony arrest warrant and took her to the Forsyth County Detention Center.
