Wet Historic Roswell Criterium doesn’t stop racers

Hundreds participate in 12th annual event

ROSWELL, Ga. – Most of the day Sunday, April 28, Roswell’s historic Canton Street was shut down to all but a certain kind of traffic – bicycles. The 12th annual Historic Roswell Criterium saw hundreds of avid cyclists converge on Roswell.

The Criterium, a multi-lap race on a closed course, saw racers speed down the full length of historic Canton Street and double back along Ga. 9 and Green Street, then circle around back to Canton via Norcross Street.

Despite a constant rain, racers kept up their speed and some spectators turned out to cheer them on while relaxing at one of the restaurants along the track.
