ROSWELL, Ga. – Roswell's local soccer facility, Wall 2 Wall Sports Center, has just signed a partnership with the prestigious Chelsea football club and the Southern Soccer Academy to bring academy-level league teams to children.
SSA is the official partner of Chelsea in the southern United States and will operate the new club, to be called “SSA Roswell” on the 8.2 acre facility on Cox Road. They will start in the fall of 2013.
W2W comprises one full-size natural grass field and four artificial turf small-sided game courts.
“We have always been looking for a club partner,” said Jon Conway, owner of Wall 2 Wall. “There are players in this area who want academy play.” It serves the local crowd and provides a path to continue on.”
Elite level players will have the opportunity to progress into regional and national level teams throughout the SSA Club network which includes over 4,000 players playing out of nine locations across three states. SSA Roswell will be the tenth SSA club location joining Carrollton, Cobb, Coweta, Douglasville, Kennesaw, Little Rock, Nashville, Paulding and Savannah.
“We are excited to introduce SSA to the Roswell/Milton community and reach out to new players who may not be able to get to our existing locations,” said SSA Director of Soccer, Steve Gummer. “With the size of our player network, the quality of player development and top level partnership with Chelsea FC, we feel we can offer an exciting soccer option to families in East Cobb and North Fulton Counties.”
Team tryouts will be in May and June 2013. SSA Roswell will host a parent information evening on Sunday April 13 at 5 p.m. to present information on the new SSA Roswell program.
The session will be in the W2W clubhouse at 170 Cox Road, Roswell, at the junction of Roswell Road and Arnold Mill Road. Further information will be available at www.ssaelite.com. For on Wall 2 Wall Sports, visit them online at www.w2wsports.net.
