Upshaw’s huge game not enough for Northview Titans loosing to Squoyah 58, 48



JOHNS CREEK, Ga. – Northview’s Terrence Upshaw rushed for 276 yards and five touchdowns against Sequoyah last Friday night, but it wasn’t enough for the Titans.

Sequoyah’s Blake Ingleton gained 388 yards and also rushed for five touchdowns to lead the Chiefs to a wild 58-48 victory on the Titans’ home field.

Upshaw’s touchdowns included runs of 53 and 59 yards. He scored four times in the first half, which ended tied at 27, and again in the third quarter to pull the Titans within 41-34.

Northview quarterback D.J. Pearson passed for 200 yards and a touchdown to Matt Biondich and also rushed for a score. But the Titans fell to 2-2 in Region 7-AAAAA East and 2-6 overall.

The Titans, who have averaged 32 points a game in their six losses but have allowed 53 points in those six, play at Forsyth Central (also 2-2, 2-6) Friday.

The winner finishes third in the sub-region and will play at the loser of the Kell-Pope game in the region playoffs next Friday. The Northview-Forsyth Central loser plays the Kell-Pope winner, the champion of 7-AAAAA West.
