U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary holds safe boating course Feb. 22

Flotilla 29 of the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary, Lake Lanier, announces a 1-day 7-Lesson ”ABOUT BOATING SAFELY” course. The course is scheduled for Saturday, February 22, 2014. This course also serves as a PWC certified course for children under the age of 16. This course will be given at the Coast Guard Operations Center, 6995 Lights Ferry Road, Flowery Branch, Ga., on the left just before the entrance to Aqualand Marina.

Classes run from 8:30 AM until 4:30 PM, and cost is $40. Discounts are available for additional family members.

--NAVIGATING THE WATERWAYS

--OPERATING YOUR VESSEL…SAFELY

--LEGAL REQUIREMENTS OF BOATING

--BOATING EMERGENCIES…WHAT TO DO

--ENJOYING WATER SPORTS WITH YOUR BOAT

--STATE OF GEORGIA REGULATIONS

Successful completion of this course may result in a reduction in your boat’s insurance premium.
