UNG to extend semester by four days due to snow

To recover some of this lost instructional time, University of North Georgia has determined it necessary to extend the semester by four days from Friday, April 25 to Thursday, May 1.

"This winter’s weather has had a significant impact on us this semester, particularly in regard to instructional time," said Bonita C. Jacobs, president of UNG.

Finals will begin on Friday, May 2, with the finals originally scheduled that day; the exams originally scheduled for Monday, April 28 through Thursday, May 1 will be moved one week later to May 5-8. An academic calendar and final exam schedule can be found here - http://ung.edu/calendars.

"These are unusual circumstances, and I appreciate the careful consideration given to this plan to ensure our students are able to complete their coursework successfully and in a timely manner," Jacobs said.
