Two drivers not better than one

MILTON, Ga. – We are not sure, but this may be the first case of two people arrested for DUI for driving the same car at the same time. A man and woman were arrested Sept. 1 after the car they both were driving ran into a North Park apartment.

According to police, driver Anne Morrow Roberts, 34, of North Park Lane, Milton, was sitting on the lap of William Harry Evans, 35, of Sugar Hill, and controlling the steering wheel. Evans was using the pedals. When the pair tried to park the car, Roberts’ foot slipped onto the accelerator, causing the car to drive into a ground-floor apartment. There were no injuries.

Both drivers were arrested for DUI.
