CUMMING, Ga. — Two seniors signed to play soccer at the college level on Feb. 5, National Signing Day, at Covenant Christian Academy, 6905 Post Road in Cumming.
Hanna Watson, a senior at Covenant, accepted a four-year scholarship to play soccer at Emmanuel College in Franklin Springs, Ga., where she plans to study pre-medicine. Watson plans to become a medical missionary.
Hannah Washington, another senior at Covenant, signed to play soccer at Shorter University in Rome, Ga.
Washington seeks a liberal arts degree with a focus on missions Washington said she’s excited about her upcoming first mission trip to Malaysia this summer and hopes to one day live full-time overseas.
Covenant’s athletic program serves as a springboard for its athletes, preparing them to play on the college level and is proud to have athletes in multiple sports year after year signing athletic scholarships and letters of intent. The girls’ soccer program is headed up by coach Johnathan Arnold, who himself played on the 1992 national championship team for Belhaven University in Jackson, Miss.
