CUMMING, Ga. — A woman’s car broke down at a gas station, and the “help” she got took advantage of her situation, according to a Forsyth County Sheriff’s incident report.
A woman told deputies she pulled into the Chevron gas station, 8585 Browns Bridge Road, at about 6 p.m. Feb. 3. When she parked, her car quit working.
A man came over and asked the woman if she needed help. She told the man she was going to put ether into a part of the engine because nothing else seemed to be wrong with it.
While she popped the hood, the man jumped into her driver seat. She said she did not know how long he was in the car, but, once she saw him, she told him to get out.
The car did not start, so the woman grabbed her belongings and started to walk home.
When the woman got home, she saw $49 missing from her purse.
Deputies said they reviewed the video surveillance, and the woman’s story was true.
