ALPHARETTA, Ga. – Manning Oaks Elementary conducted its first Junior Achievement (JA) Day on April 19 for first and second grades and on March 22 for third through fifth grades.

Junior Achievement volunteers promoted the understanding of basic concepts about the economics of life to the students. The first-graders focused on jobs found within a community, as well as the difference between needs and wants. The second-graders learned about the role of the government in the community, had the opportunity to “work” in a doughnut factory and learned about the use of an assembly line.
