Student wins first place in American Legion Oratorical Contest

FORSYTH COUNTY, Ga. – District 9 Oratorical Contest winner from Post 307, Priscilla Clark, displayed her first place check of $300 alongside her mother, Marjorie Clark, and American Legion Commanders. District 9 Vice Commander Geoff Toman, Post 307 Commander Dennis Brown and District 9 Commander John Arant congratulated Clark for winning the annual high school oratorical scholarship program for the second year.

She competed in the area competition March 9, after this paper went to press, at Alpharetta Post 201.

If successful, Clark, a student at Buford High, will move to the state competition March 16 for a chance to compete at the national American Legion competition in Indianapolis for scholarships worth $18,000 in April.
