Steve Aven Dempsey, 63, of Suwanee, GA found his peace Friday, January 17, 2014.

Steve was born in Atlanta, GA in 1951 and spent his childhood there and in Chamblee. Over his life he also called Norcross, Lilburn, Alpharetta and Suwanee home. He is survived by his mother Helen, wife Kaye, sons David and Jonathan, daughter in law Amy, grandchildren Jonathan, Julia, Jacob, Jordan and Harrison, and extended family.

He graduated from Chamblee High School in 1969 and from there was proud to serve in the US Air Force from 1970 to 1974. After honorable discharge he sought employment in the automobile appraisal industry and worked in that field for 38 years. He established his own firm, Dempsey Appraisal Service, Inc. in 1995, and it continues under the leadership of his sons David and Jonathan.

He was an enthusiastic gardener, woodworker and musician and he joyfully shared those exceptional skills with family and friends alike.

Services will be held on Saturday, January 25th, at 2:00 PM at McDonald’s Funeral Home in Cumming, GA. Reception immediately follows. The family welcomes you to join us and share your love and memories.
