CUMMING, Ga. — This is the last week to catch the South Forsyth High School drama club’s presentation of the award-winning “Shrek, the Musical.”

“Shrek, the Musical” is based on the Oscar-winning DreamWorks film, and the cast and crew of South Forsyth bring everyone’s favorite ogre to life on the stage.

“‘Shrek, the Musical’ is the culmination of months of hard work from my amazing cast and crew, with more passion crammed into this show than we have ever had before,” said the director, Kirk Grizzle. “There is no weak character and you won’t want to miss this fairytale come to life. Come see what makes us special.”

In a faraway kingdom turned upside down, things get ugly when an unseemly ogre – not a handsome prince – shows up to rescue a feisty princess.

This musical includes the hilarious sidekick Donkey, who cannot stop talking, a short-tempered villain and a cookie with an attitude.

There are more than a dozen other fairytale misfits that when thrown together call for a real hero. Luckily, there’s one on hand, and his name is Shrek.

The show takes the stage on Dec. 12, 13 and 14 at South Forsyth High School, 585 Peachtree Parkway.

Tickets are $10 at the door, or in advance from any cast member.
