Scuffle with Milton police leads to Tazing

MILTON, Ga. – Police had to Taze a man Oct. 20 after he allegedly began to fight with officers during a traffic stop.

Calls came in to officers that several men were drunk at the El Molajete restaurant on Ga. 9 and they had driven away in a white SUV. Police quickly found the suspected vehicle and noticed it driving erratically. It was pulled over.

The driver, Juan Ibarra Torrijo, 37, of North Main Street, Alpharetta, allegedly smelled of alcohol and was put through sobriety tests, which police say he failed. They turned him around and attempted to arrest him when Torrijo began resisting arrest and refusing to allow himself to be handcuffed. He was hit with a Taser and was finally handcuffed.

Torrijo was charged with DUI, disorderly conduct and driving while unlicensed.
