ALPHARETTA, Ga. — Scientific Games employees donated 4,000 items to United Way of Forsyth County’s partner agency, The Place of Forsyth County.
The Place is a food pantry that serves area families facing difficult times by providing emergency basic needs.
“United Way of Forsyth County is proud to partner with Scientific Games to make an impact on our community and would like to thank their employees for giving so generously,” said Leigh Crow, United Way of Forsyth County director, resource development. “Many believe that there is not a large population of hungry residents in Forsyth County, but the fact that the number of food pantries and meal distributors here has tripled in the last two years is evidence that there is an increasing number of people going hungry every day in our community.”
Scientific Games held its March Madness Food Drive to help feed the hungry. Themed with teams and bracketed rounds similar to college basketball’s annual March Madness tournament, the food drive was coordinated by SG Cares, a Scientific Games community and charitable engagement program.
