CUMMING, Ga. — Sawnee Electric Membership Corporation announced it plans to promote its paperless billing program called “E-Bill” on Earth Day — nationally celebrated on April 22.
Sawnee has multiple electronic processes for both computers and mobile devices that save time and reduce the amount of paper and postage that they must use – so Earth Day is the perfect time to promote these processes, said Blake House, vice president of member services.
“We are promoting Earth Day by making a special plea to our members; we are asking them to consider our paperless bill approach” House said. “We receive over 800 calls in our call center on a typical day and we mail out over 130,000 bills each month; if we can just get 1/3 of those members to switch over to our paperless program and start using our electronic approaches, thousands of pounds of paper could be saved from landfills.”
Sawnee is also seeking to show its members how fast, easy and safe it is to do business electronically with the cooperative.
The paperless billing program called “E-Bill” allows subscribing members to receive email notification that their monthly billing statement is ready to review online.
Once they log in to Sawnee’s payment website, members can view their current bill, see their detailed energy usage, make a payment and other things.
Historical billing data and previous bill forms are also available at the site – it can virtually eliminate the need to call Sawnee’s Call Center and speak to a representative.
