Save Christmas trees ‘for the Chipper’ Jan. 4

ROSWELL, Ga. — Join the tradition and give a gift to nature this holiday season. Keep Roswell Beautiful invites residents to celebrate the 24th annual “Bring One for the Chipper” to recycle Christmas trees after the holidays.

As part of a statewide effort to reuse Christmas trees, Keep Roswell Beautiful has joined with sponsors Home Depot, 11 Alive, the Davey Tree Expert Company and the Keep Georgia Beautiful Foundation.

Residents are invited to bring their trees to one of the two Home Depot locations in Roswell on Saturday, Jan. 4, 2014, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.: Home Depot, Holcomb Bridge Road (Holcomb Woods Shopping Center) or Home Depot, 870 Woodstock Road (across from Publix).

Trees will be chipped into mulch and will be available for delivery to the public by Davey Tree. Residents are asked to please not drop off trees prior to Jan. 4.

In appreciation of their recycling efforts, participants will also receive a special gift, while supplies last. Last year, more than 11,000 trees were collected in Roswell.
