ALPHARETTA, Ga. – For many young women, prom night is one of the most memorable events of their high school years. But it doesn’t come without a cost. According to ABC News, the average teen will spend $1,139 on prom. That includes dress, shoes, makeup and hair. The reality is there are many young women who simply can’t afford it.
To help remedy this, the staff at Alpharetta’s new salon, Salon Lofts, at 970 Northpoint Drive,
partnered April 10 with Becca’s Closet, an organization that donates formal attire to high school girls with financial needs.
Salon Lofts held a “Beauty Lounge,” a night filled with beauty services and samples. Attendees were asked to bring formal wear they no longer needed. All dresses were donated directly to Becca’s Closet. In addition, loft owners donated hair and makeup services to each young woman who ends up with one of the dresses collected at the event.
Salon Lofts, founded in 2003, is reinventing the beauty industry by creating a community of experienced beauty professionals who enjoy all the benefits of owning a salon without the risks. Salon Lofts connects professionals with the online tools, personalized marketing platforms and inviting salon atmospheres that form the foundation of their businesses.
