ALPHARETTA, Ga. –– The Rotary Club of Alpharetta attended the Rotary International Conference and brought back awards for their service and projects for the 2012-13 year.
The Rotary Club of Alpharetta is in the 6900 District along with 68 other clubs in Category III.
The awards are as follows:
Best Vocational Services Club Leadership Plan Award, Best Community Service Club Leadership Plan, Animals to People Award, Best Foundation Runner-Up Award, Best Service Projects Runner-Up Award, Best Financial Support of the Rotary Foundation Award, Certificate of Appreciation for the club’s financial support of Rotary’s U.S. $200 million challenge to eradicate polio.
Rotary Club of Alpharetta President Bill Weeks received the Sheffield Leadership Award and the Governor’s Citation Award. One president from each category has received the Sheffield Leadership Award since 1994. Weeks is the fifth president in the Alpharetta club to win the award.
“We are all proud of the recognition we have received for our work over this past year,” Weeks said. “We will continue to strive to live out the Rotary motto ‘Service above Self’ in serving others.”
