ALPHARETTA, Ga.–– The Rotary Club of Alpharetta awarded $1,500 in support of Stand Up For Kids during their meeting.
Stand Up For Kids is non-for-profit organizations founded in 1990 to target and provide support to homeless and at-risk youth. They work to carry out their mission with volunteers who go to the streets in order to find, stabilize and help the young people improve their lives.
The donation received by the Rotary Club of Alpharetta will go toward the organization’s Dream Trust which provides college scholarship funds for students sponsored by the program.
Bill Weeks, President of the Rotary Club of Alpharetta, said that his organization was happy to award the donation to Stand Up For Kids.
“Stand Up For Kids is run almost entirely by volunteers. We are happy to provide support to them as they work with these young people to help and encourage further education for the kids,” said Weeks.
