Roswell driver arrested for DUI, refused to stop

ROSWELL, Ga. –– Police arrested Kyle Wesley Brooks, 33, of Atlanta on charges of DUI and fleeing and attempting to elude.

An ambulance notified police May 25 that a driver was failing to maintain his lane on Ga. 9 around 7:30 p.m. The driver almost struck a pedestrian crossing signal, according to the report.

Police were then able to find the vehicle in question on Ga. 9 as it turned onto East Crossville Road and initiated a traffic stop based on “jerky” movements that the driver made.

The officer then activated his siren, but Brooks continued to drive on. The officer called for backup and a rolling road block was needed to pull Brooks over.

Brooks allegedly displayed signs of impairment and he was transported to North Fulton Hospital for treatment.

Once Brooks was cleared by hospital staff he was transported to the Roswell Detention Center.
