ALPHARETTA, Ga. – The 3.76 acres at North Point Drive and Haynes Bridge Road are seeing the movement of red dirt that only comes with new construction. Owned by North Point Haynes Bridge Properties, the property will have four restaurants on it.
According to Kathi Cook, with Alpharetta Community Development, the restaurants to be built will be a Chipotle, Pollo Tropical, Corner Bakery and Zoës Kitchen.
The Corner Bakery and Zoës Kitchen will be in the same building. Chipotle and Pollo Tropical will each be separate.
Corner Bakery is a Chicago-based bakery-restaurant. In 2011, Roark Capital Group, an Atlanta-based private equity firm, bought the chain. There are three locations in Atlanta and one in Peachtree Corners. Zoës Kitchen has six locations in Georgia, all in the Atlanta region. It specializes in healthy, non-fried plates, including gluten-free and vegetarian foods. Chipotle is a large Mexican cuisine chain with many locations throughout the region. Pollo Tropical is a Miami-based chain with a large footprint in Florida. They have three locations in the Atlanta area.
Across the street from the property are other small restaurant chains, such as Wendy’s and Steak and Shake. Behind it, toward the mall, is a 9-acre lot currently zoned for office buildings. Cook said there are no plans submitted as of now for the development of that property.
