With the holiday season already started, what plans do you have to recognize your employees?

Are you planning on doing something to show your employees that you really care about them?

Even though the holiday season is a busy time of year, small business owners shouldn’t miss the opportunity to recognize and celebrate the achievements of their employees.

A little can go a long way in creating a work environment where your employees know you care about them.

So what are some of the options you have to recognize your employees?

Allow them to take a few hours off to do some of their holiday shopping.

Offer flexible work schedules to allow them to move their schedules around to accommodate family time.

Plan a luncheon to celebrate the season and build morale by conveying your thanks. Hand out gift certificates or cards.

These are all low-cost options that go a long way in saying “thank you” to your employees.

The holiday season is also a great time to hand out bonus checks and announce promotions to those who were high contributors.

And for small business owners who don’t have the resources to do what is suggested above, a simple handwritten and personalized note can go a long way in conveying your thanks.

Recognizing your employees during the holidays is a great opportunity to demonstrate you care about them, and will go a long way in improving morale in your small business.
