Plant and garden sale showcases 40 vendors

FORSYTH COUNTY, Ga. — This weekend the Forsyth County Master Gardener plant and garden sale returns to the Cumming Fairgrounds. This marks the 14th year the master gardeners hold their sale.
About 40 vendors will be showcasing high-quality southern plants, perennials, annuals, trees, vegetable and more from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. April 11 and April 12.
The free to attend annual plant sale is held each spring in “The Barn” a covered portion at the Cumming Fairgrounds adjacent to the arena. This rain-or-shine event raises funds to support Master Gardeners demonstration gardens and Forsyth County-wide gardening projects.
High-quality vendors from several states and local area will offer interesting varieties of plants, trees and garden related items for sale.
Vendors include: Herbs by Deb, Gardeners Pottery, Abbott Creek Nursery and The Kinsey Family Farm to name a few.
There will be free presentations throughout the day.
The plants are adapted and hardy for this area. In addition to the array of plants that are for sale, Master Gardeners will be available to answer all your gardening questions.
The event’s food vendor is HoneyBaked Ham, said Karen Cox, a Forsyth County Master Gardener.
The event will have about six presentations per day where experts will share gardening knowledge.
Topics include square-foot gardening, hay bale gardening, hydroponics, pollination gardens, native plants, master naturalist topics and special hands-on presentations for children.
“A favorite of those in attendance is the ‘Ask a Master Gardener’ booth,” Cox said. “And of course, the many varieties of plants from our own Master Gardeners gardens are for purchase as well.”
