Panera Bread supports breast care at Northside Hospital

FORSYTH COUNTY, Ga. — Panera Bread gave Northside Hospital a check for $1,100 at the hospital’s Celebration of Lights event in December.

Last fall, Panera invited customers to purchase a signature Pink Ribbon Bagel. More than 10,000 bagels were sold at Panera Bread bakery-cafes throughout North Georgia, with a portion of the proceeds going to Northside Hospital’s Breast Care Program.

“We are grateful that Panera Bread has decided to support our Breast Care Program, once again,” said Patti Owen, director of oncology services, Northside Hospital. “We developed our Breast Care Program to give women the education, screening, diagnosis, treatment and support they need in the fight against breast cancer; this money will go directly to supporting those services.”

The Panera Pink Ribbon Bagel follows the tradition of “thinking pink” in the quest to eradicate breast cancer. Ten cents from each of the ribbon-shaped bagels sold in October at the 20 Atlanta-area participating stores were donated to breast cancer causes.
