Old Milton-North Point intersection improvements slated

GDOT’s Brandon Beach announces $1.2M project

FULTON COUNTY, Ga. – State Transportation Board Member Brandon Beach announced a construction project to upgrade the intersection of Ga. 120 (Old Milton Parkway) at North Point Parkway in Fulton County. Work should begin in late January, and the scheduled completion date is April 30, 2013.

“This project will greatly enhance the traffic flow through this very heavily traveled intersection,” said Beach, who represents the 6th Congressional District on the GDOT board. “I am glad that we can get the project underway for the citizens of Alpharetta and anyone who is coming to or leaving the mall area.”

The $1.2 million project was awarded to C.W. Matthews Contracting Co., Inc. and includes several safety and operational enhancements.

The radii of the right turns will be widened to make those movements easier for motorists to navigate. New signals will be installed, and left turn lanes will be installed on all four approaches as well.
