FORSYTH COUNTY, Ga. — Northside Hospital-Forsyth’s pulmonary and therapeutic endoscopy lab announced the addition of new technology in the diagnosis of lung cancer.
Electromagnetic navigation bronchoscopy (ENB) is a minimally invasive technology that helps physicians locate, enable biopsy and plan treatment for lesions detected deep in the lungs.
It provides the ability to detect lung disease and lung cancer before symptoms are evident, enhancing treatment options for patients.
The ENB technology is typically performed in an outpatient setting and uses the patient’s natural airways, so no incisions have to be made.
“This technology will become an integral part of our longstanding cancer program; it will help many patients,” said Dr. Frank J. DeMarco, pulmonologist.
