FORSYTH COUNTY, Ga. — During the month of April, Northside Hospital will offer free wellness programs and classes for cancer patients and their families.
Another program that runs every Wednesday until April 30 is a special mind and body wellness workshop.
Lead by Ellen Sichel, the class runs from 10:45 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. at the Northside Hospital-Forsyth building, 1400 Medical Office Building in Classroom A or B.
The mind and body workshop teaches attendees to transform their relationship with stress and pain into a life-enhancing solution through breathing strategies and relaxation techniques.
The gentle yoga taught in the program can renew the body, lower stress and bring a sense of inner calm and well-being to patients.
Yoga can also be an important aid to the body in its fight for recovery against cancer.
An RSVP is required for the class, and comfortable clothing is advised.
