ALPHARETTA, Ga. – A local girl won first prize in a national literature competition.
Nicole Izmaylov, 15, won first place in the 2012 Forward National Literature Awards for middle grade chapter books for her children’s book “Dart and the Squirrels.”
This is one of several awards for the young teen author. Her book has ranked No. 1 several times on Amazon and received rave reviews. Her first book won her the Georgia Author of the Year in 2010.
“Dart and the Squirrels” is about a dog learning to share his family with a group of squirrels dropping in on them. It was released May 22, 2011.
