New teen service group forms in Johns Creek, Milton

NORTH FULTON, Ga. – Lion’s Heart-Teens Giving Back, a national community service organization for tweens and teens in sixth through 12th grade, has opened a chapter in Johns Creek.

Started in 2004 in Southern California, Lion’s Heart has experienced tremendous growth since its founding. Members perform at least 30 hours of community service a year and are grouped by grade level and gender.

There is no fundraising in Lion’s Heart, only serving the community in fun and meaningful ways. The first group of the Atlanta chapter has members from both Johns Creek and Milton, and all are boys in seventh grade with a willingness to serve the community.

“I love helping the community while having fun with my friends. I look forward to every service project we have,” said Adrian Carrasquillo, president of this first Atlanta group.

These projects have included helping out at an animal shelter, assisting at local schools, volunteering at a church and helping at a fire station, just to name a few.
