JOHNS CREEK, GA. – The Women’s Ministry of Mount Pisgah United Methodist Church is busy preparing for “A Royal Tea & Baby Shower,” an event for mothers and daughters to benefit the Beacon of Hope.
A new twist on this year’s event is that it is being held in honor of Her Royal Highness Kate Middleton, Duchess of Cambridge, and her daughter-to-be.
The event will be presented Saturday, June 22 from 2 to 4:30 p.m. at the Mount Pisgah Underground, at 2850 Old Alabama Road in Johns Creek.
Tickets are $20 for adults, $10 for children 6 and older. Younger than 6 are free. Order tickets online at www.mountpisgah.org.
A portion of the proceeds from the event will benefit A Beacon of Hope, a non-profit organization that offers help and hope to women and men facing unplanned pregnancies through services such as free pregnancy testing and ultrasounds, counseling, mentoring, resources and information to assist in making difficult decisions about next steps.
In order to further benefit A Beacon of Hope, attendees are encouraged to bring a new, unwrapped baby gift. This baby shower is registered in conjunction with the current needs of the organization at Babies R Us. Go to www.babiesrus.com/registry and use the registry number 49368698 to make your selection.
“A Royal-Tea & Baby Shower” will offer an opportunity for women and their daughters to experience a true English garden party likely to impress the Queen. Party-goers can relax casually under a grand shaded tent while mingling with friends, sampling tea sandwiches, scones and dessert delicacies handmade from scratch.
And, a tea party is not complete without sipping on multiple flavors of tasty tea.
“I’m so excited for this year’s event. It is the perfect occasion for mothers and daughters to bond in true English Garden Party fashion while also helping mothers-to-be in our community,” said Shannon Mullins, Chair of Women’s Ministries.
The event also features a dynamic speaker presentation by Joy Earle, a storyteller who has a passion for all women to know who they are in Christ and to remain unique in that relationship. Her ministry of encouragement will have the audience doubled over in laughter, but at the same time lift them to worship the Almighty.
Activities for children 5 and older activities will be provided during her message.
